Transforming Your Smile with Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry
A great smile makes a lasting impression. You no longer have to hide your smile because of crooked, stained, or chipped teeth. Drs. Lawrence and Adam Klein offer a range of cosmetic and restorative procedures that can transform your smile.
Teeth Whitening
When describing your smile, are “white” and “bright” the first words you use? If not, you should consider our in-office and take-home whitening solutions. Our practice uses Zoom!® whitening systems to put the dazzle back in your smile. Through the use of a hydrogen peroxide-based gel and a special lamp, the Zoom!® Chairside Whitening System can whiten your smile up to ten shades in about one hour. If you would prefer to whiten your teeth in the comfort of home, our office will provide you with the Zoom!® Weekender Kit, complete with customized trays. After three days of home treatment, you will have noticeably whiter teeth. To learn more about both of our whitening solutions, contact us today.
Porcelain Veneers
If stained, chipped, or crooked teeth detract from your smile, porcelain veneers may be the solution for you. Dental veneers are thin shells of highly stain-resistant porcelain that are attached to the front surfaces of your teeth, creating a natural looking smile. An impression of your teeth will be taken and sent to a dental laboratory, where your porcelain veneers will be custom manufactured. In about two weeks, your veneers will be completed and ready to be attached. Either Dr. Lawrence Klein or Dr. Adam Klein will carefully bond the veneers to your teeth, and you will leave our office with a gleaming new smile.
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is an alternative solution to repair chipped, cracked, or discolored teeth. The process requires less time than the application of porcelain veneers and, depending on how many teeth are being repaired, can usually be completed in one visit. Bonding involves a composite resin being applied to a tooth to alter its appearance. Prior to the procedure, our dentists will select a shade of the resin that matches the color of your teeth. After the bonding material has been applied, the tooth will be shaped and polished to complement the size and finish of your surrounding teeth, leaving you with a beautiful new smile.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Having cavities no longer needs to mean having conspicuous fillings. Today, tooth-colored composite fillings are a viable alternative to metal fillings. Unlike traditional metal fillings containing mercury, tooth-colored fillings are formed with durable composite resins, resulting in restorations that have a more natural look. Bonded directly to the tooth, the composite fillings are durable and strong.
Porcelain Crowns
Dental crowns, also referred to as caps, are restorations placed over a badly damaged or decayed tooth. Crowns can also be used to conceal an unsightly tooth or to hold a dental bridge in place. Porcelain crowns are made of ceramic and customized to match the natural color of your teeth. These crowns are extremely durable and, with proper dental hygiene, can last many years.
Dental Bridges
Dental bridges are used to replace one or more missing tooth and to restore function and balance to your mouth. Bridges are comprised of two crowns surrounding and securing an artificial tooth. They are custom-designed to fill in the gap and are natural in appearance. Our dentists ensure that each bridge is secure and comfortable. With good oral hygiene, dental bridges can last a long time.
Inlays and Onlays
In the spectrum of dental procedures, inlays and onlays fall between crowns and fillings. Similar to crowns, inlays and onlays are created using porcelain and then bonded to the surface of the tooth during a second visit. Inlays and onlays, however, do not completely cover the tooth, but correct a surface area closer to that of tooth-colored fillings. When the area of the tooth to be fixed is too large to be replaced with a filling, but a crown is not needed, inlays and onlays are recommended.
Dental Implants
Dental Implants are the most natural and permanent solution to missing teeth. They are titanium tooth roots that are surgically placed in the upper or lower jaw. The implants bond with the bone over time and act as anchors for replacement teeth. After the implants are inserted, they need about three to six months to heal. At this time, artificial teeth are crafted to be placed on the implants. The procedure for dental implants is lengthier than restorative procedures for bridges or dentures, but the results are more secure and longer lasting. Once completed, dental implants function just like your natural teeth.
Dentures
Dentures, unlike dental bridges, are removable replacements for missing teeth. We offer both complete (full) and partial dentures. These dentures are finely crafted and custom-fitted and will provide support for you to speak and eat with ease. Implants can be used to help secure dentures and hold them in place tightly.
